PlayTime Movement was born from a commitment to break the cycle of pain and orthopedic problems that often appear later in life—by addressing movement earlier, before those issues begin.
Speaking Engagements & Training
Caroline has shared the PlayTime Movement mission through speaking engagements, trainings, and presentations designed to educate and inspire audiences. Why We Exist
Too many families and professionals know a child needs support, but are left wondering what to do next.
PlayTime Movement was built to bridge that gap.
We translate complex developmental concepts into clear, practical action. We create tools that empower adults. We provide movement strategies that help children thrive. And we do it in a way that feels hopeful, approachable, and effective.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to build lifelong joint and spine longevity by developing the proprioceptive sense—our body awareness. We do this by cultivating movement confidence in individuals of all ages and by equipping those who teach young people with the knowledge and tools they need to elevate their instruction.
About The Founder
Caroline Humberston
DPT, CSCS
Dr Caroline Humberston, DPT, CSCS, has spent more than twenty years helping people understand why movement breaks down—and how to rebuild it. Working in orthopedic outpatient care, she saw the same pattern repeat: pain, injury, and limitation caused not by age, but by how the body learned to move over time.
That experience shaped her work. Trained in Movement System Impairments and Schroth Scoliosis and Kyphosis treatment, Caroline focuses on teaching movement in a clear, approachable way that builds awareness, confidence, and long‑term resilience. She is especially passionate about helping non‑movers become movers by reconnecting them with how their bodies are meant to work.
In addition to developing the PlayTime Method, Caroline is the owner of the Spine and Movement Center in Holland, Ohio, where she actively treats movement issues. She and her team take a whole‑person approach: listening closely, addressing the full movement picture, and partnering with each individual on a personalized movement wellness journey.
Core Values:
- Simplicity That Empowers: Movement should feel accessible, not overwhelming. PlayTime strips away jargon and complexity so educators, coaches, and individuals of all ages can succeed immediately.
- Confidence Through Competence: When people of any age feel capable, they feel brave. PlayTime builds foundational movement skills that translate into lifelong confidence.
- Clear Communication: Words shape movement. PlayTime relies on precise, consistent cues that help participants understand what to do and why it matters.
- Movement as a Language: Everybody, especially children, communicate through how they move. PlayTime teaches adults to observe, interpret, and respond with clarity and respect.
- Curiosity Over Perfection: Exploration drives learning. PlayTime targets all learning styles with written, audible, and visual lessons, then "doing it" to truly understand. We celebrate questions, experiments, and “try it and see” as the heart of movement education.
- Connection Before Correction: Kids learn best when they feel seen and supported. Playtime prioritizes relational teaching—warmth, trust, and shared discovery.
